If you’re finding that pushing the pedal in InqScribe results in strange characters appearing in your transcript, check to see if you have the VPedal.app running. Run the Set Up Foot Pedal wizard (or define your shortcut triggers). InqScribe should be able to communicate with the pedal directly. Unplug your digital media keyboard, and all unnecessary USB devices. If that fails, try restarting the InqScribe app. Plug in only the minimal USB devices you need to set up the foot pedal: e.g. If your device isn't recognized, check that its status is listed as "active." If you don't see the device listed, try checking the "Show All Devices" option. InqScribe should be able to automatically activate most common USB devices, including all supported foot pedals. The app will simply ignore any "deactivated" device. Having the option to toggle devices on and off is useful if you have a particularly noisy device causing conflicts with InqScribe. menu to activate and deactivate USB devices. The wizard just provides an interface designed for foot pedal users. Note that there's nothing in the wizard that you can't do via the Edit Shortcuts dialog. menu item to open a wizard that will guide you through the process of assigning your pedal buttons to shortcuts. And you must have drivers that allow your USB device to be recognized by your system, if you want InqScribe to recognize it as well. Mice and trackpads are automatically prevented from being triggers, because they serve a basic pointing function. So you might set your left foot pedal button to one shortcut, but set Shift-left foot pedal button to another shortcut. Note that you can use modifier keys with USB devices. Then press the button or pedal you want to use for the trigger. To use a USB device, just click the Define Trigger button in the Edit Shortcuts dialog. That means that you can create a shortcut or a snippet and sets its trigger to be an input element of a USB device, like a foot pedal or the button on a gamepad. Then you can just tap the rewind button once to skip back, or multiple times if you need to skip back further.InqScribe supports USB input devices. Map the rewind pedal button to the Skipback function, setting it to a value that matches your workflow. "Skipback" essentially rewinds the media by a set number of seconds. InqScribe should be able to automatically activate most common USB devices, including all supported foot pedals. Another workaround is to use the "Skipback" function. Try "Review" rather than "Rewind." You might find that certain commands are supported while other similar ones are not.Ĥ. Windows* and Mac users can download QuickTime 7 for free from Apple’s website. Though it is not required, we recommend that all Mac users install QuickTime 7, since it supports many features that are not supported by the more recent QuickTime X (in Mac OS 10.6 and higher). This will expand your computer's video playback capabilities.
